How Invisalign Works at Melton Dental House
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually work towards aligning your teeth and closing spaces over the course of treatment. Unlike fixed orthodontic treatment, the aligners are discreet and can be removed for eating and cleaning.
Step One: Your Consultation
The process starts with an initial consultation at Melton Dental House. Your clinician will assess your teeth to confirm whether Invisalign is appropriate for you. If it is, we will take a digital scan of your teeth along with clinical photos and records. You will then return a few weeks later to begin your treatment.
Step Two: Fitting Your Attachments and First Aligner
At your first active appointment, small tooth-coloured attachments are placed on your teeth. These are subtle bumps that help the aligners grip and guide movement. Your first aligner is fitted at the same appointment, and your clinician will walk you through how to wear and clean your aligners properly.
Step Three: Monitoring From Home
One of the practical advantages of Invisalign is that progress can be monitored remotely. You do not need to come in every week. Instead, you will have follow-up appointments every couple of months so your clinician can check on progress and keep treatment on track.
Bite Correction During Treatment
If you also have a bite discrepancy, Invisalign can address this as part of your overall treatment plan. Bite correction is typically completed towards the end of the aligner series. Your clinician will explain what is involved during your consultation.
