How the Facility Is Set Up
The GA facility at Melton Dental House is built and equipped to function like a clinical theatre environment. Two General Anaesthetists attend on procedure days, supported by nursing staff, to manage the anaesthetic and monitor patient safety throughout the procedure. The clinical team works across multiple operatories, allowing complex and multi-treatment appointments to be managed efficiently within the one facility.
The Recovery Area
A dedicated recovery area is set up within the practice for patients to rest after their procedure. Patients remain in the recovery area and are monitored by the clinical team until they are ready to be discharged. Discharge requires a responsible adult to accompany the patient home, and the team will confirm all post-operative requirements at the time of booking.
What Can Be Done Under GA at Melton Dental House?
The on-site GA facility supports a range of procedures including fillings, root canal treatment, surgical extractions, and implant surgery. Because the facility is within the practice rather than a hospital, patients are treated by the same clinical team who planned their care — Dr Warren Antonoff, Dr Ben, and their respective nursing teams — rather than being handed over to an unfamiliar environment.
Who Is the GA Facility For?
The facility is available for patients who have been unable to complete dental treatment while awake due to dental anxiety, sensory sensitivities, a strong gag reflex, or the complexity of the treatment required.
