Teeth Whitening at Melton
If you drink coffee, tea or any herbs that stain, you may benefit from our teeth whitening services. Over time, many different foods and beverages can stain teeth while age has a way of dulling them, too. But thanks to modern dental solutions, our team at Melton Dental can help whiten your smile. Whether you want to restore their previous colour or if you need to update your own natural tooth colour, we have both take-home whitening kits and in-office whitening treatments to suit all of our patients.
What is Teeth Whitening?

We can also create a customised whitening treatment plan that will begin with an office whitening treatment and send home a customised teeth whitening kit that you can use to follow up on the in-office visit. No matter which treatment you choose, our team at Melton Dental will work with you to find the ideal shade of white for your teeth and create a customised treatment plan for you.

In-Office Teeth Whitening Service
Our in-office treatment is the highest standard of teeth whitening treatment and the most popular. We will begin with a thorough dental exam to find and treat any dental problems that may exist and then follow it up with a professional teeth cleaning to remove plaque and debris that brushing may have left behind.
Once the professional cleaning is complete, a professional dental whitening solution will be applied to your freshly cleaned teeth. As you relax, the get will set and the Zoom 2 Chair-side Lamp will activate the solution to enhance the whitening process.
In-Office Teeth Whitening Service

Once the professional cleaning is complete, a professional dental whitening solution will be applied to your freshly cleaned teeth. As you relax, the get will set and the Zoom 2 Chair-side Lamp will activate the solution to enhance the whitening process.
In-office teeth whitening provides a stronger whitening solution because we can protect your gums and the rest of your mouth from irritation. The process will be monitored by our dental professionals to ensure safety with optimal results, and the stronger solution will give you a whiter smile in a shorter time.
The At-Home Teeth Whitening Service
Some patients may do well with an at-home teeth whitening service. Our dentist will perform a full exam and evaluation to ensure this treatment is right for you. Next, a customised whitening solution will be created just for you, as well as a dental tray that will fit nicely over your teeth to keep the gel in place so you get the most benefits from your solution. When you are ready, apply the gel and insert the custom tray at your convenience. You will be given instructions on how long to leave it on as well as any other instructions to provide the best results. We want to ensure you are happy with your treatment and are here to help.

Who Will Benefit from Teeth Whitening Treatment?
While most patients will benefit from teeth whitening services, there may be some cases in which teeth will not respond to this treatment. For example, in some cases, a tooth may become darkened due to an old filling or cavity, which takes place inside the tooth. This is known as intrinsic discolouration and appears to darken the tooth. Other factors that contribute to intrinsic staining are medications like tetracycline or dental fluorosis. This type of staining will not respond to typical teeth whitening treatments, but we have other treatments that may work such as a porcelain veneer to repair the colour.
Most stains are extrinsic discolouration, which is when the outer layer of the tooth enamel is stained. This is the most common type of discolouration and responds best to teeth whitening treatments. Altogether, discoloured teeth may be due to a combination of both extrinsic and intrinsic, and may happen due to a variety of factors including the following:

Smoking

Our goal is to help our patients achieve their dream smiles with safe and effective products. When you visit us, we will ensure that teeth whitening will work for you.
