How Happy Gas Works
Happy gas is administered through a small mask placed over the nose. You breathe normally through your nose throughout the procedure, and the gas takes effect gradually. At the end of the appointment, pure oxygen is delivered through the same mask to clear the gas from your system. Because the effects clear quickly, most patients are able to drive themselves home after their appointment.
Which Procedures Can Be Done With Happy Gas?
Happy gas can be used for most dental procedures at Melton Dental House. It is commonly used during standard check-ups and cleans, deep cleans, fillings, extractions, and root canal therapy. If you have a procedure coming up and would like to discuss whether happy gas is an option, speak with your clinician when you book.
