Hi, Dr Linda here from Melton Dental House.
So, you’ve had a tooth extracted and now you’re thinking about getting an implant? Keep watching, because this is one of my favourite topics to talk about!
To see if an implant is the right solution for you, the first thing we’ll do is use a 3D CBCT scan to check out your bone quality. If you’ve got enough bone, we’ll plan the surgery and place a titanium implant in the gap. This process usually takes about three months to fully heal.
It’s completely okay to be nervous about this, but we’ll be with you every step of the way, and we’ll make sure you’re comfortable and well looked after. If it’s a front tooth, we’ll place a temporary crown so you can keep smiling with confidence. For back teeth, we’ll use a healing cap on the implant as it recovers. Once your implant has fully integrated with your jawbone, we’ll create a custom crown that not only looks great but also restores your bite back to full strength.

Now, you might be thinking, “What if I’m not a good candidate?” Don’t worry, we can still work with you! For example, if you don’t have enough bone, we can do bone grafting to help build it up and make the implant possible. But if implants aren’t the best fit for you, there are other great options, like bridges or dentures, that we can discuss.
So, if you’re thinking about dental implants to replace a missing tooth, we’re here to help!
