What Are the Options for a Single Tooth Replacement?
What Are the Options for a Single Tooth Replacement?
Hi, Dr Linda here from Melton Dental House.
If you’ve got a missing tooth and are wondering what your options are, you’ve got a few to choose from: dental implants, bridges, and dentures. But what are the differences? Which one should you get? Well, let’s break them down so you can get a better idea of which one might work best for you.
First up, we have dental implants.
These are the best long-term solution. Implants are fixed in place, feel just like natural teeth, and are a great standalone option. They’re a bit of an investment upfront, but the durability and benefits over time really make them worth considering. By the way, we have a great range of payment options, if you’re seriously considering getting dental implants.
So next, we’ve got bridges.
Bridges are a less invasive option and are still fixed in place. They work by anchoring to the teeth next to the gap. While they’re more affordable than implants, the downside is that they require some alteration to the adjacent teeth, which might not be ideal if those teeth are in good shape. Bridges are a good choice if the neighbouring teeth are also decaying, and they’ll need crowns for added protection.

And finally, we have dentures.
Dentures are the most budget-friendly option. They’re removable and can be a good short-term solution. However, they can move around in your mouth, and you’ll need to remove them daily for cleaning.
Ultimately, your choice depends on factors like your budget, the health of your surrounding teeth, and how important long-term stability is for you.
So, if you’re exploring options to replace your missing tooth, we can help you find the right one for you, your lifestyle, and your budget.
