What Are All-On-4 Dental Implants?
Hi, I’m Dr. Fong, the founder and principal dentist of Dental House Group and AO4 Implants.
A couple of weeks ago, I was talking to one of our long-term patients, John from Melton. John had lost most of his teeth over the years, affecting not just his smile, but also his ability to eat and speak properly. He has been wearing dentures but found them inconvenient and uncomfortable. During his consultation, he asked me, “Hey Fong, is there a more permanent solution? I really don’t like wearing my dentures.”
For our implant patients, this is a very common question. That’s why I’ve decided to make this video, to explain what All-on-4 dental implants are.
So, what exactly are All-on-4 implants?
Essentially, they are a set of four or more dental implants that act as anchors for a full arch of teeth. Unlike traditional implants, which require an implant for each missing tooth, which can be time-consuming and expensive, All-on-4 uses just four or more strategically placed implants to support all a full arch of upper or lower teeth.
The benefits of All-on-4 implants are numerous. This technique offers stability even in minimum bone volume, which means you may not need bone grafts. It’s also cost-effective compared to replacing each tooth individually. Most importantly, it can drastically improve the quality of your life, from how you eat to how you smile.
There are several advantages to All-on-4 implants.
They’re much more stable than dentures, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile.
Because they’re anchored in your jaw, they help preserve bone structure and facial appearance.
They’re designed to last for a very long time, up to 20 years with proper care, making them a long-term solution.
Now, this treatment is ideal for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth due to decay, gum disease, or injury, but still have sufficient bone structure to support the implants.
So, if you’re considering a more permanent, functional, and aesthetic solution for many missing teeth, we’d love to look after you.
